Paris Saint-Germain defender Dani Alves has revealed his ambition of playing in the Premier League before calling time on his footballing career.
The Brazil international came close to a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City in the summer before opting to join Les Parisiens.
Speaking exclusively to FourFourTwo, Alves said that he initially thought of joining the Citizens, but the prospect of linking up with close friends including Thiago Silva tempted him to sign for Unai Emery's side.
Despite this, the 34-year-old has not ruled out the prospect of working under Pep Guardiola in the final years of his career, although City appear to have moved on from their summer disappointment.
"There were lots of things to consider, and they drove me to PSG," the 34-year-old right-back told FourFourTwo. "Guardiola was the main reason, above all others, that I was considering going to play for Manchester City.
"In the end, there was an opportunity to join some very good friends at PSG. It made more sense for me to pick Paris over Manchester on this occasion, but I don't hide my admiration for Pep and my will to play in the Premier League in the future."
Alves won the Champions League thrice with Barcelona in a luxurious career, and he will be eyeing similar European success with Les Parisiens, who significantly bolstered their squad in the summer.
The former French champions brought in the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to reinforce their already star-studded squad, and the club's hierarchy will expect to reach at least the last four of the elite competition.
