Up and coming Manchester City and Brazil striker, Gabriel Jesus has reportedly turned down a new contract offer from the Premier League champions-elect worth in the region of £90,000 per week, with the player and his agent believing that he should be rewarded with a higher wage.
Manchester City are in no major rush to get a new deal agreed, however, they want to get an extension in place that will keep the 20-year-old at The Etihad until at least 2023.
Jesus has made a great impression during his early Premier League career, but a couple of untimely injuries have kept him out of the team and allowed Sergio Aguero to reclaim his role up front.
Whilst the Brazilian is keen to get the pay rise that he feels his form for The Citizens deserves, he is said to be more focused on securing silverware with his teammates at this moment in time.
With the League Cup already secured and the Premier League almost certainly on it's way back to Manchester, Jesus will be hoping to add a Champions League winners medal to his domestic trophy cabinet before setting off to Russia in an attempt to see Brazil regain the World Cup trophy.
After the international break, the Premier League returns this weekend, as Jesus and his Manchester City side look to take one step closer to securing their title with a trip to Everton. All eyes will then be on Anfield next week, as City travel Liverpool in that all English Champions League quarter-final first leg.
