Thierry Henry: This Arsenal star changed Sunday's league game

Arsenal favourite Thierry Henry believes compatriot Alexandre Lacazette was key to changing the complexion of Sunday's league game. The Gunners were leaning towards a goalless draw against Stoke City but Lacazette's introduction brought about a change in momentum which saw the side secure a 3-0 triumph.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd interested in signing Aurelien Tchouameni

  • Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry highlighted the same saying: "I think for me he changed the game. He started to be the guy that they were looking for to make those penetrative runs. And Aubameyang got his chance when he went on the left and made that run. For me, Lacazette changed the game when he came on."

Lacazette had spent the past six weeks on the sidelines to recover from a knee surgery, but he managed to bring a fresh impetus into the game following his introduction at the hour mark.

Meanwhile, his confidence will have also been boosted after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang handed him the opportunity to score the third goal via the penalty spot, and this puts him in a strong position ahead of Thursday's Europa League game.

Arsenal have gone with Danny Welbeck upfront for the previous knockout rounds of the Europa League, but with Lacazette back in the mix, it would be a surprise if he does not start against CSKA Moscow in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final.
