Real Madrid midfielder snubs Manchester United

Real Madrid midfielder snubs Manchester United

02 August 2018 - 06:25

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has poured cold water on the idea of playing for Manchester United despite a 60 million euro bid from the Old Trafford side, Marca reports.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The reason given for the snub is that the player does not want to play under Jose Mourinho because of his style of football. The player is willing to leave Real due to a lack of playing time, but does not want his next destination to be Old Trafford.

Kovacic has been under a system at Real Madrid where attacking football has made them win the UEFA Champions League three times in a row, allowing the attacking players to express themselves on the pitch better.

Jose Mourinho has been criticised by United fans for being unable to provide attacking football - the kind that saw the club win so many trophies under legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United's Paul Pogba who did very well as France went all the way at the World Cup in Russia, has also been linked with a move away from United with Juventus and Barcelona interested.
