Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hinted that both Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard may start from the off during the club's Premier League outing at Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

  • Lingard was not involved in the matchday squad against Leicester City last Friday after having just returned following his World Cup break whilst Lukaku only came on as a second half substitute due to his limited fitness.

In report covered by the club's official website, Mourinho has confirmed that none of the injured players are likely to make the Brighton trip, though the likes of Lukaku and Lingard may earn more gametime at the south Coast.

"Normally, these boys that [against Leicester] were in a difficult situation will be ready to give a bit more [against Brighton] – more Lukaku, more Rashford, probably Lingard coming back, more Fellaini. I think normally we're going to have more," he said.

Manchester United begin their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 home win over Leicester City. Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw found the scoresheet for the Red Devils whilst Jamie Vardy bagged the consolation for the visitors.
