Report: Chelsea chase Laudrup

09 March 2008 - 10:27

Chelsea have reportedly sounded out the possibility of making Getafe boss Michael Laudrup as their first team coach next season, with current boss Avram Grant taking a more 'upstairs role'.

  • Michael Laudrup has taken Getafe from strength to strength in recent years, and was pinpointed as the club's first choice replacement when Bernd Schuster left for Real Madrid.

The former Danish international spent time at both Barcelona and Real Madrid during his playing days and seems to have taken on the managerial and coaching duties in the same way as his playing skills, superbly.

Another thing that stands in Chelsea's favour is Laudrup's excellent relationship with Frank Arnesen at Chelsea, who has already told Roman Abramovich that Laudrup should be the long-term manager for the club.
