Moyes wants a strong refree

David Moyes would like a strong referee to take charge as Everton take on Fiorentina in the UEFA Cup on Thursday. For the match at Goodison Park, Moyes wants a strong referee who will be able to spot Fiorentina's apparent play acting.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • "The problem [last week] was that we were playing a good Italian team on the night and it wasn't the way we have been playing of late," Moyes told Sky Sports News.

"We have got to give them credit, they played well on the night, defended well and got their goals late on.

"I think we have got a lot of belief here the way we have been playing this season. I have got a great deal of faith in the way they have been playing and progressing.

"I feel we deserve an awful lot of credit for that and we are going to try and keep that up.

"We have scored a lot of goals at Goodison Park. The crowd will play a part and we are going to need a strong referee, a good referee and if we get that hopefully we can turn it around.

"I think we saw that in the first game in was very difficult to make any contact whatsoever and also I have got to say the Italians are extremely clever so we have to understand that it is part of their game."
