Manchester United attacker set for fresh five-year contract

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to reward Anthony Martial with a fresh five-year contract following his impressive showing since the start of the current season.

  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up vs Liverpool, Levi Colwill starts
  • Chelsea tipped to sell £30m striker this summer
  • The Frenchman's future came under immense speculation during the summer amid his agent suggesting that he may pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.

However, nothing of that sort happened with United being reluctant to sanction his sale and he has since returned to the fray with impressive performances under Jose Mourinho.

According to RMC Sport, the 22-year-old is now ready to pen a fresh contract with the Mancunian giants after getting back into contention for a regular role.

Martial has been a regular starter for United for the past month and he has been in excellent form of late with three goals from his previous two Premier League appearances.

The Frenchman's current deal expires at the end of the current campaign but there is an extension clause present which would prolong his contract until the summer of 2020.
