Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-3-3) to face Crystal Palace, Lingard and Lukaku start

23 November 2018 - 20:53

Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways when they entertain Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Red Devils had remained unbeaten for seven straight games across all competitions between October and November before the 3-1 derby defeat at the hands of Manchester City before the international break.

    Formation: 4-3-3

    Predicted Lineup:

David de Gea has gone through a tough patch with the Spain national team but this has not had an impact on his performances at the club level. He is the undisputed choice between the sticks and should start for the 12th league game on the bounce.

In defence, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof should once more occupy the heart of the backline but there is expected to be on change in the full-back positions. Luke Shaw is serving a one-match domestic suspension after picking up five yellow cards and this may witness Ashley Young switch to the left side of the defence with Antonio Valencia featuring at right back.

In the midfield, Paul Pogba should return to the mix after missing the Manchester derby with a thigh strain. Alongside the Frenchman, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera should get the nod with the latter providing the added workrate and mobility to curb the counter-attacking threat from the Eagles.

Upfront, Anthony Martial is pretty much assured of his position on the left wing after scoring in each of the previous five league matches. He could be accompanied by Jesse Lingard on the opposite flank after his good run of form with England while Romelu Lukaku appears the likely choice to lead the line after Mourinho deemed him fit after the recent recurrence of a hamstring problem.
