Willian hopeful of Hazard stay

Willian speaks on Eden Hazard's Chelsea future

10 May 2019 - 08:22

Brazil international Willian remains hopeful that Eden Hazard will stay put with Chelsea beyond the ongoing campaign.

  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The 28-year-old scored the decisive penalty in the 4-3 shoot out triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt as the Blues sealed their spot in an all-English Europa League final versus Arsenal.

Since then, there have been suggestions that the attacker may have made his final appearance at Stamford Bridge but Willian remains optimistic that the Belgian will stay committed to the club.

"For me I hope he stays, but in football you never know. I think his head is here, to play for Chelsea. I don't know anything about him leaving so for me I hope he can stay," he told BT Sport.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer and the same appears likely to come to fruition with the Belgian not keen on extending his Blues contract which expires at the end of next season.

Los Blancos are alleged to have already failed with a £65m bid for the playmaker and reports indicate that the Blues want at least £100m to sanction the player's sale.
