Manchester United have reportedly received a boost in signing midfielder Bruno Fernandes with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur distancing themselves from the Portuguese.
The 24-year-old had a stellar campaign with Sporting last term where he contributed 33 goals and 18 assists, and that has caught the attention of some of Europe's elite.
Among those, United have been heavily tipped to pursue the versatile midfielder and The Mail claims that they have a clear route to recruit him with both Liverpool and Spurs ending their interest.
Still, the Mancunian giants need to discuss a fee for the Nations League winner and various reports have suggested that Sporting are looking for something in the region of £70m.
Fernandes was recently part of the Portuguese national team which won the inaugural edition of the Nations League. He started in both the semi-final and final for the Euro 2016 champions.
Meanwhile, United are understood to be eyeing another central midfielder in the market and Newcastle United's Sean Longstaff has been earmarked as the perfect fit. He could cost around £25m this summer.
