Albert Luque is set to join Ajax from Newcastle. The Dutch club have agreed a £2m fee with the Geordie side for the Spanish striker. Sam Allardyce had been giving Luque a chance in pre-season, but it appears as if his horror spell at the club is now over.
The former Deportivo man has signed a contract until 2010 and recently speculation had been rife linking the player with a return to his homeland. However, Ajax have won the race for his signature.
