Chelsea star Willian believes the emergence of Tammy Abraham can aide the Blues to overcome the absence of Eden Hazard in the current campaign.

  • The west London side parted ways with Hazard during the summer transfer window after the Belgian decided against signing a new long-term deal in favour of joining Real Madrid.

The Blues have since utilised the likes of Christian Pulisic, Ross Barkley, Mason Mount on the left side of the attack and the latter has been the only one who has particularly impressed.

Speaking to Goal.com, Willian acknowledged that the departure of Hazard was a big loss but the club have players, who can fill the void left by the Belgium international.

He told: "I think Hazard's exit was a big loss. Eden is a player that can make the difference, but I think we have players that can continue to make the difference as well."

He added to reserve special praise for Abraham, who has quickly found his feet with the Blues with seven goals scored from the past three league appearances alone.

"Abraham is playing well at the moment. He is scoring lots of goals and I am very happy for him. The young players are doing well. They can improve a lot," he continued.

Chelsea are currently just outside of the Champions League positions on goal difference. They are scheduled to face table-toppers Liverpool in the weekend's league game at Stamford Bridge.
