Arsenal to move for Leicester City defender?

14 November 2019 - 18:19

Arsenal are reportedly lining up an ambitious attempt to sign Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester City amid their struggles at the heart of the backline.

  • Soyuncu was heavily linked with the north London giants during the 2018 summer transfer window but ultimately they decided against making a formal approach for the Turkey international.

In the same summer, the Foxes managed to prise him away from Freiburg in a deal worth £19m and the centre-back has proved a worthy replacement for Harry Maguire this term.

According to Turkish outlet Star, the Gunners are expected to track the progress of the central defender on international duty and they could make a transfer approach next year.

Regardless of this, the Foxes are unlikely to entertain any mid-season departures, given they are looking in a strong position to cement a top-four spot for the campaign.

Aside from Soyuncu, Ben Chilwell and James Maddison are the other Foxes player, who could be potentially lured away from the King Power Stadium next summer.
