Manchester United eye shock loan move for South American striker

Man Utd eyeing a shock reunion with Carlos Tevez

Manchester United eye shock loan move for South American striker

23 January 2020 - 12:26

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are considering Boca Juniors star Carlos Tevez as a short term replacement for Marcus Rashford.

  • Chelsea have genuine interest in Kenan Yildiz
  • Chelsea chasing Belgian youth labelled 'next Kevin De Bruyne'

  • The report also states that the Red Devils are planning to bring their former star on a loan deal for the remainder of the season – the way they actually bought him during the 2007/08 season.

The 35-year-old is currently in his third spell with his hometown outfit, and his contract runs out in June.

It is also understood that the likelihood for a move in January is high as he is not considered as part of Boca's plans.

The Argentine was a great success at Old Trafford under the tutelage of Alex Ferguson, helping United win numerous accolades before making his switch to Manchester City in 2009.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finds himself in the hot seat following a string of poor results in recent weeks, which includes the defeat against Burnley last night. The inability to cope up with the absence of Rashford also turns out to be one of the reasons for the Norwegian manager's failure.
