Tottenham Hotspur to move for Watford star?

01 March 2020 - 19:59

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly make the attempt to sign Ben Foster from Watford when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.

  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?
  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Foster has impressed on an individual basis for the Hornets this term and only Burnley's Nick Pope and Liverpool's Alisson Becker have managed more clean sheets than him in the Premier League.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs are keen to add competition to Hugo Lloris for the number one role and they are considering whether to make a move for Foster.

Paulo Gazzaniga has been the regular in goal when Lloris has been on the sidelines this season but Jose Mourinho does not seem impressed with the Argentine, who has kept just two clean sheets from 18 games this season.

Foster is likely to make a decision on his future in the coming months and he could stay put with the Hornets, should they preserve their top-flight status for next term.

Otherwise, he could be on the move but may want assurances of a regular starting role with his next club. The 36-year-old has been ever-present for the Hornets in the league since joining them from West Bromwich Albion in 2018.
