Ole Gunnar Solskjaer drops huge hint on striker's future

13 March 2020 - 19:15

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped a huge hint regarding the future of Odion Ighalo beyond the current campaign.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The Nigerian has been a success for the Red Devils since his mid-season loan move from Shanghai Shenhua and he has scored four goals from just three starts.

He recently bagged a goal and an assist in the 5-0 Europa League win over LASK and shortly after that game, Solskjaer hinted that Ighalo could be rewarded with a permanent deal in the summer.

"Odion has done really well since he came in and he's enjoying himself. He has qualities we saw in him and we needed and we will still need those qualities for next season," he told via ManUtd.com.

The 30-year-old has benefited with a regular starting role in the Cup competitions, considering Solskjaer has opted to utilise Anthony Martial as the main striker for the Premier League.

Of course, the Norwegian has the option of playing Mason Greenwood upfront but he has so far kept his faith on Ighalo, who has found the net in every start for the club.
