Solskjaer confident of club's transfer business this summer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaks on Man United's transfer plans

08 April 2020 - 16:00

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident that the club are well placed to deal with the ongoing shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The global crisis has led to suggestions that the transfer business could be limited during the summer but Solskjaer believes the Red Devils are in a strong financial position to land their transfer targets.

"There might be just a situation there where you can exploit, and I know that we at Man United we are one of the biggest, and the biggest, financially well-off," he told Sky Sports. "I'm sure we are capable, when we get back to normality, that we can do the business that we want to."

Aston Villa's Jack Grealish and Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho are presently the leading names on the club's shortlist for the summer and they are understood to have made initial contact with the latter's representative.

Apart from the duo, Birmingham City youngster Jude Bellingham is another, who has been regularly linked with a move. The 16-year-old visited the club's training ground earlier last month.

Solskjaer is expected to be handed a £150m pre-sales budget for the next transfer window. Any additional funds are likely to be garnered from player sales. Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo are among those, who could head through the exit door.
