Newcastle linked with Sessegnon

06 April 2008 - 11:17

Benin international Stephane Sessegnon has been linked with a move to the Premiership. Wigan scouts have been monitoring the 23 year old in recent weeks as scouts watched the last three Le Mans games. It now seems that Newcastle are entering the race to land the player.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Sessegnon remains keen to move to England and the Premiership, but Le Mans are keen to keep hold of one of their prized assets.

The 23 year old has spent the majority of his career in France; previously playing for Creteil before Le Mans. The ball winning midfielder is valued at around £2.5 million, and Steve Bruce is set to be handed an £11 million transfer fund this summer.

The Benin international is also being tracked by Monaco, Lyon and Sampdoria.

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan has reportedly - along with Wigan - sent scouts to watch Sessegnon.
