Chelsea clear their transfer stance on Philippe Coutinho

Chelsea want Coutinho only on loan

Chelsea clear their transfer stance on Philippe Coutinho

19 April 2020 - 19:53

Chelsea are prepared to sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona only if the Spanish club are willing to accept a season-long loan agreement.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Coutinho is presently with Bayern Munich on loan but he is expected to return to the Camp Nou as the German side will decline the option to buy.

According to The Mail, the Blaugrana are keen to offload the Brazilian in the next transfer window such that they can raise more funds for a summer spending spree.

They are, however, struggling to find any clubs willing to meet their £70m price tag and reports claim that the Blues would be prepared to sign Coutinho only on a temporary deal.

Like many clubs, the west London giants have been hampered financially by the coronavirus pandemic and they are likely to offload a number of players to boost their summer transfer kitty.

Ross Barkley and Andreas Christensen are among those, who could be shown the exit door. Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud, Pedro and Willian are likely to leave for free when their respective contracts expire this summer.
