Willian has reportedly assured Chelsea that he would remain committed to them until the completion of the current campaign, which has been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Blues have recently extended the contracts of Olivier Giroud and Willy Caballero until June 2021 and they are unlikely to do so with Willian, who is said to demand a three-year extension.
Willian's current deal effectively concludes at the end of next month but he has assured the Blues' hierarchy that he would be willing to sign a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk is unlikely to be short of offers during the summer and reports claim that Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are leading the race to land his signature.
Spurs have been reckoned as the favourites to sign him due to the presence of former Blues head coach Jose Mourinho with whom he has a good relationship.
A move to the Gunners, however, cannot be ruled out, given Willian also shares a close bond with compatriot David Luiz. The duo co-own a restuarant in the English capital.
