Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Brentford over the potential signing of goalkeeper David Raya.
The Gunners have recently agreed on a £16m fee for the sale of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa and they are expected to pursue a replacement.
According to 90min, Raya has been identified as the prime transfer target and the Gunners' hierarchy have started negotiations with the Bees to sign the Spaniard.
Raya missed Brentford's season opener at Birmingham City earlier today, but manager Thomas Frank stressed that the shot-stopper was absent due to an injury.
The Bees are adamant that the Spaniard won't be sold during the ongoing transfer window, but the Gunners are still pushing for the deal with Mikel Arteta wanting a good back-up option to Bernd Leno.
Matt Macey was the bench goalkeeper for the Gunners' 3-0 win at Fulham, but he is expected to leave the club on a permanent basis in the quest for regular playing time.
