Inter Milan close in on Hleb

13 April 2008 - 16:09

According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan have already agreed a deal with Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb. The player has become disillusioned at the club and after talks took place between the player, his agent and Inter when the Gunners visited Italy for the Champions League tie with Milan, Wenger has since shown a lack of confidence in his midfielder.

  • Man Utd star preparing farewell video ahead of transfer
  • Chelsea winger suffers head injury vs Nottingham Forest
  • The 26-year-old is said to have agreed on a five-year contract worth three million euros per season at Inter, worth almost double what he earns at the Gunners.

Arsenal are chasing the signature of Yoann Gourcuff; while Luis Felipe Figo is reportedly set to quit Inter Milan in the summer and Hleb has been lined up as his replacement.

Arsenal had paid £10 million for Hleb when they signed him from VfB Stuttgart; and Inter are set to pay around £11 million for the midfielder - rather poultry compared to the initial fee.
