Barcelona decide against Ousmane Dembele exit

05 October 2020 - 19:22

Barcelona have reportedly decided to keep hold of Ousmane Dembele despite a significant loan offer from Manchester United.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • It was recently reported that the Frenchman had agreed personal terms with the Red Devils and the club were optimistic of landing him on loan.

However, the talks have broken down between the sides after Dembele refused to sign a one-year extension on his contract expiring in June 2022.

United had reportedly made a £10m loan offer for the 2018 World Cup winner with the option to buy for around £60m at the end of the campaign.

The Blaugrana were willing to loan him out, but wanted him to sign a fresh one-year renewal, such that they can preserve his transfer value, in case United opt against signing him permanently.

Dembele was unsatisfied with the terms of the proposed extension and hence, the Blaugrana have decided to keep hold of his services.

Irrespective of Dembele's future, the club are expected to push for the signing of Lyon forward Memphis Depay before tonight's transfer deadline.
