Tottenham Hotspur want to sign World Cup winner in January

Tottenham Hotspur could make a move to sign Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich during the winter transfer window.

  • Chelsea eyeing surprise move for former Arsenal striker
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Fulham man?
  • Spurs parted ways with Jan Vertonghen after his contract expired earlier this summer and they replaced him with Joe Rodon before the EFL deadline.

The Welshman has yet to make his mark for Spurs, but Bild claims that they are on the look out for an experienced centre-back.

Boateng is on their radar amid his contract standoff at Bayern and there are suggestions that he could be sold on a cut-price deal in January.

The 2014 World Cup winner has only eight months left on his contract and so far, there has been no breakthrough in the renewal talks.

Boateng has been in top form for Bayern under Hansi Flick and he has been the regular centre-back partner for David Alaba this year.

Similar to Boateng, Alaba's deal expires in eight months' time. The hierarchy recently confirmed that the contract talks have broken down.
