Liverpool's summer signing Thiago Alcantara will reportedly make his injury comeback when the club return to action after the international break.

  • The former Bayern Munich has experienced a tough debut season where he has been hampered by a positive COVID-19 test as well as a knee injury.

According to The Mirror, Thiago returned to regular training before the Manchester City clash, but the club opted against rushing him to action.

The Spaniard will now have two weeks to improve on his fitness and will be in contention for Leicester City's trip to Anfield after the international break.

Thiago has made the starting lineup on just one occasion for the Reds and he will be hoping that he can put his injury troubles behind him.

He won't be used to the congested festive schedule and Jurgen Klopp may decide to rotate him with the likes of James Milner and Naby Keita.

Liverpool are currently one point behind leaders Leicester on the table.
