Liverpool midfielder set to miss Leicester City clash with groin injury

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is set to miss the weekend's Premier League clash against Leicester City after sustaining a groin injury on England duty.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The Merseyside giants have been hampered by multiple injury concerns this term and they are currently without the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Andrew Robertson and Fabinho (both hamstring) could recover in time for the Foxes clash, but The Mail claims that Henderson remains a major doubt for the encounter.

The England captain suffered the setback during the recent Nations League defeat to Belgium and he has since returned to the Reds training base to speed up his recovery process.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah seems a definite absentee for the upcoming league game after testing positive for the coronavirus on international duty with Egypt.

Salah produced a positive COVID-19 test last week and the result has remained the same during the second round of testing. He has yet to travel back from Cairo due to this reason.
