West Ham United have failed with their attempt to sign Chelsea defender Emerson on a short-term loan deal.
The Italy international has played second fiddle to Ben Chilwell at left-back this season and he has made only nine appearances.
Hence, he has been linked with a move away from the west London giants, but it appears that they have knocked back an approach.
According to The Mirror, the Hammers recently made their move for Emerson with the aim of strengthening their left-back department.
However, the offer has been rejected by the Blues with manager Frank Lampard wanting the defender to remain as cover for the season.
Emerson has previously expressed his frustration over his limited game time and he has played only 88 minutes of Premier League football.
His current deal expires in the summer of 2022 and it is likely that he could be sold permanently at the end of the campaign.
West Ham United currently have Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku as the left-back options, but the latter is on the sidelines through injury.
