Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-2-3-1) vs Liverpool, Fernandes and Lindelof start

24 January 2021 - 16:31

Just seven days after an anticlimatic goalless draw in the Premier League, Manchester United and Liverpool will renew their bitter rivalry in the FA Cup fourth round.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • United have been one of the in-form teams in the league and they are unbeaten since the loss to Arsenal in early November. The Reds, however, have been in poor run of form and are winless in the last five league games.

    Formation: 4-2-3-1

    Predicted Line-up:

Dean Henderson has been the Red Devils' Cup goalkeeper this season and he is expected to get the nod over regular choice David de Gea.

In the backline, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are the likely candidates to feature in the right and left-back spots.

Victor Lindelof, who has been struggling with a nagging back problem, may return to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of the backline.

Paul Pogba may play in a more attacking role today and that could see Scott McTominay return to the mix to partner Fred in the midfield.

In the attack, Pogba may slot into the right wing with Marcus Rashford featuring on the opposite flank ahead of Anthony Martial.

Bruno Fernandes is a certainty in the number 10 role. Edinson Cavani, who scored in the recent win over Fulham, should lead the line.

Predicted Manchester United lineup: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Pogba, Fernandes, Rashford; Cavani
