Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Shkodran Mustafi amid their central defensive crisis.
The Reds are expected to be without Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for the season with long-term injuries and it has been reported that Joel Matip could also be out with an ankle ligament damage.
Hence, there are without any senior centre-backs in their squad and Standard Sport claims that they are considering a possible loan move for Mustafi until the summer.
The German is out-of-favour with the Gunners and it has recently been claimed that he could mutually terminate his contract which expires at the end of June.
The Reds are not keen on a permanent solution and it is reported that they could propose to sign Mustafi on loan and pay his £90,000-a-week wages in full.
Fabinho has acted as the makeshift centre-back in recent weeks, but he is out with a minor injury. Jordan Henderson is likely to partner either Nat Phillips or Rhys Williams when the Reds face West Ham United tomorrow.
