Blackburn consider Nicolita

Blackburn consider Nicolita

19 April 2008 - 17:20

According to reports, Blackburn could make a summer move for Romanian international midfielder Banel Nicolita from Staeua Bucharest. The midfielder is nicknamed 'Jardel' after Mario Jardel; the famous goalscoring Brazilian.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Nicolita should have no problems securing a work permit in England as he has appeared regularly for the Romanian international side; and may make the Euro 2008 squad for his country.

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes is reportedly keen to add the Romanian to his squad after glowing scout reports from his performances in the Romanian Liga this year.

For Staeua, he has always been a prolific goalscorer, and it is rumoured that Aston Villa are also believed to be considering a move for the attacking midfielder.

Staeua will probably allow Nicolita leave the club for around £1.5 million.
