Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has rejected a contract offer from the club amid his limited playing time this season.
The Guinea international joined the club from RB Leipzig with a big reputation in 2018, but he has failed to live up to the hype.
He has suffered multiple injuries during his time at the club. Last season, he was restricted to just over 500 minutes in the Premier League.
With Georginio Wijnaldum's exit, he has featured regularly this term, but has started just two of the five league matches so far.
According to Bild, the midfielder has snubbed a renewal with the club as he is eyeing a more prominent role under Jurgen Klopp.
He is prepared to assess his situation over the coming months, and based on this, he will decide whether to extend his stay or not.
Keita was substituted midway through the Carabao Cup clash against Norwich City in midweek after kicking the ground accidentally.
He is now deemed doubtful to face Brentford on the road on Saturday. Thiago Alcantara has been ruled out with a calf injury.
