William Saliba is determined to prove himself at Arsenal following his season-long loan with Marseille, football.london claims.
The 22-year-old has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Gunners. He has spent three loan spells away from the club.
He is currently with Marseille where he has been hugely impressive, but the centre-back has his sights on making his Gunners debut.
While Calum Chambers has been sold to Aston Villa recently, Pablo Mari could leave permanently this summer. Saliba could fill the potential void.
He would still need to fight for a starting spot as Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are now an established centre-back pairing.
Saliba will enter the final two years of his Gunners contract in July. He may need to commit his future before making the first-team.
Meanwhile, Marseille have not given up on signing him permanently, but they are under a transfer ban for the next two windows.
Any move may depend on whether they can uplift the FIFA-imposedĀ embargo through a successful appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
