Chelsea are considering a move for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, David Ornstein reports.
The Portuguese star made a stunning return to Old Trafford last summer. He had a superb 2021/22 campaign, scoring 24 goals.
Despite his contributions, United could only manage to finish sixth in the league standings. They failed to win any silverware.
Ornstein recently reported that Ronaldo wants to leave United this summer following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
The reputed journalist has now confirmed that Chelsea are weighing up a possible approach with owner Todd Boehly deeply interested.
Boehly only recently took charge of Chelsea. He appears keen on making a statement by signing a world-class player of Ronaldo's calibre.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is also an admirer of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, but it is unclear whether he would approve a move.
Meanwhile, there are also doubts whether United would sanction Ronaldo's switch to the Blues, who are their main top-four league rivals.
