Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo reportedly prefers a move to Chelsea over Arsenal this month.
The Ecuador international has developed into a top-class defensive midfielder and the Blues are keen on luring him to Stamford Bridge.
London giants Arsenal are also interested in securing his services, but journalist Ben Jacobs claims that the Blues have an advantage in the race.
The club have been in regular contact with his representatives over the past few weeks and personal terms have already been finalised.
Furthermore, Caicedo is keen on a reunion with Blues manager Graham Potter, who handed him his Premier League debut in April last year.
Hence, Chelsea have an edge over the Gunners in the transfer race, but they still need to convince Brighton with a lucrative transfer package.
The Seagulls have already turned down their opening bid of around £55m. They are eyeing close to £75m up front with a further £25m in the form of add-ons.
