  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Emiliano "Emi" Martinez is an Argentine professional footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Aston Villa in the English Premier League. Born on September 2, 1992, in Mar Del Plata, Argentina, Martinez started his youth career at Club Atlético Independiente before moving to the Arsenal youth academy in 2010. He made his professional debut for Arsenal in 2012 but struggled to cement a place in the first team and went on loan to several clubs before finally leaving Arsenal in 2020 to join Aston Villa.

Martinez has had an impressive career so far, but his biggest achievement came in 2023 when he played a crucial role in helping Argentina win the World Cup. Martinez was the starting goalkeeper for Argentina throughout the tournament, and his performances were crucial in helping Argentina on their way to the final.

His heroics also helped him become a fan favorite at Aston Villa, where he is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. With his talent and experience, Martinez is expected to continue to play a key role for his club and the Argentine national team in the coming years.

Tottenham are desperate to swoop for Martinez to grab a former Arsenal keeper and infuriate the Emirates' fan base.
