Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a big injury blow for midfielder Thomas Partey ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool.
The Gunners are currently on a two-match winning streak and will be aiming for another three points when they host the Reds on Sunday.
Ahead of the game, the club have had an untimely setback with Partey suffering a fresh recurrence of his thigh injury in training.
The midfielder only recently returned with the group after a long lay-off and he has now suffered another setback which will keep him out.
Arteta could not confirm the extent of the damage but it seems like the Ghanaian could be out of action for another few weeks at least.
The news is a huge blow for the Gunners, who were hoping to have him back in action for a crucial period in the league title race.
Declan Rice could be partnered by one of Jorginho, Emile Smith Rowe or Kai Havertz when Jurgen Klopp's side visit the Emirates.
