Barca do not want Diego Milito

Barca do not want Diego Milito

20 May 2008 - 12:49

FC Barcelona have pulled themselves out of a potential bid for the Real Zaragoza want-away striker Diego Milito, according to reports emanating from Spain.

  • Dutch star undergoing his medical at Chelsea
  • Chelsea poised to make bid for Man Utd winger

  • Catalan sports daily Sport.es reports that the Blaugrana have decided not to hunt the 27-year old Argentine international since they do need any striker for next season. Barca are set to undergo a massive squad revamp in the summer and it was thought that with the probable sell-out of Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o and Giovani dos Santos, the Catalans might as well have gone for Milito.

But Sport.es reports that Barca do not want a player of Milito's mould. Moreover the player has a buy-out clause of €100 million but now that Zaragoza have been relegated to the Segunda Division in Spain, los Manus would be eager to sell the player for as little as €20 million.

A host of other clubs, including recently crowned Italian giants Inter Milan, too are interested to import the highly rated prolific Argentine striker who brother Gabriel Milito was signed from Zaragoza by Barcelona last summer.
