Liverpool have made an opening bid of £110 million to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, according to The Times.
The Merseyside giants have already spent more than £250m during the summer transfer window and their spending spree could extend further.
The Reds are determined to land Isak from the Magpies and have today made an opening bid worth £105m plus £5m in add-ons for the Swede.
The proposal was immediately turned down by the Tyneside outfit, who are reluctant to sanction his sale for less than £150m this summer.
Liverpool have been made aware of the decision and it is claimed that they may not make another offer unless they receive encouragement.
Newcastle were keen on landing Benjamin Sesko as a replacement for Isak, but the Slovenian seems reluctant to join the club as things stand.
Eddie Howe's side have no plans to provide a discount on the asking price for Isak unless they can bring in a marquee striker this month.
