Nunez to make move to Saudi?

Al Hilal reach agreement with Liverpool for Nunez

06 August 2025 - 11:26

Al Hilal have reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of striker Darwin Nunez, according to Fabrizio Romano. Discussions over personal terms are underway and Nunez is expected to make his final decision in the coming days, with a deal between the two clubs believed to be in the region of around €65 million.

  • Recently appointed former Inter Milan Manager Simone Inzaghi views Nunez as a priority for this transfer window, as the Saudi Pro League champions look to strengthen their side in a bid to retain the title.

The 26-year-old reportedly handed in a transfer request at the beginning of the window and has also been of interest to various European clubs, with the striker previously being linked with a potential transfer to Italian giants AC Milan, although a Saudi move now looks more likely.

The Uruguayan joined the reds from Portuguese giants Benfica for a then club record £85 million transfer, surpassed this summer by the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and has since failed to live up to expectations since signing for the club.

Nunez has failed to fully establish himself as a regular starter for the club since the arrival of Arne Slot and is likely to find playing time even more difficult to come by with the signings of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt and continuous links with Newcastle's Alexander Isak.

It is not yet known to what extent Nunez's departure will affect any potential transfer with the Swedish International.
