Arsenal are working on new contracts for two important players, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have had a tremendous campaign under manager Mikel Arteta and could still win all four competitions.
Amidst this, the club are also looking to secure the future of their influential players and Romano has now provided an update.
Romano said that the club are already advancing in talks over an improved contract for versatile defender Jurrien Timber.
Similarly, they are exploring a new long-term deal for midfielder Declan Rice and initial talks have been held with his agents.
The club are not close to finalising deals for either, but they are making progress with the view to an agreement this summer.
Arsenal are set for a busy summer transfer window and the primary focus could be on strengthening the forward department.
A new right-back and central midfielder could be signed too. The club may need to offload some players to increase their budget.
