Gary Lewin quits Arsenal

09 June 2008 - 22:55

Not quite a football transfer rumour; but worthy of a mention as Arsenal's long-serving physio Gary Lewin has decided to quit the club and become England's full time physio.

  • Chelsea to make surprise move for Arsenal midfielder?
  • Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brighton, Sesko starts
  • Lewin has worked part time for England since 1996, but has now decided to quit his club duties and work full time for England.

"I'm delighted that Gary is joining us," said England coach Fabio Capello. "He has a tremendous amount of experience and will be a huge asset."

Lewin himself admitted leaving the Gunners was a tough decision: "I'm obviously very sad to leave Arsenal after such a long time but very excited about the role."
