Keane tight lipped on deal

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is remaining tight lipped on suggestions that he is set to quit Sunderland after his side succumbed to a shock 4-1 defeat to Bolton at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. Keane was keen to put off his contract as he was more focused on stopping the rot at the Black Cats.

  • "You can forget about contract talks," said Keane. "I don't think it's a case of discussing a new contract or what (chairman) Niall (Quinn) or the owners feel.

"Whatever they're feeling, we're feeling the same.

"It's a disappointment. We always said the table would take shape after eight, nine or 10 games and we are where we are and we all know that it's not good enough."
