Fergie expects City buys

Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Man City will be in the transfer market this January transfer window, and that they will continue to spend big. He also stated that Man Utd will not be so busy in the transfer market.

  • Bayern join Man Utd in race to sign £74m midfielder

  • Man City have already been linked with a January move for Mauro Zarate, and also for a few high profile defenders.

“There definitely won't be anyone coming here but I'm pretty sure City will do some business,” said Ferguson to the club's official magazine.

“You don't talk about having all this money and then not use it. They'll have plenty of ideas - the fact that they tried to buy four or five players in an hour on deadline day [on September 1] gives you an indication of what they want to do, but at the end of the day you can't buy them all.”
