Arsenal eye Mauro Zarate?

Arsenal eye Mauro Zarate?

19 January 2009 - 09:55

Arsenal are apparently interested in signing Argentinian international striker Mauro Zarate in the January transfer window. Arsene Wenger is keen to add the former Birmingham man to his ranks to put pressure on van Persie and Adebayor.

  • Chelsea tipped to make shock move for Marcus Rashford
  • Man Utd believe they can sign Bournemouth star for £64m
  • The player is currently on loan at Lazio, but his club Al-Sadd are keen to command a huge fee for the player. This seems to have prevented a move for Zarate previously.

Arsene Wenger could make a move for Zarate if he fails in his efforts to sign Russian international Andrei Arshavin from Zenit.

It is understood that Wenger is tempted to move Robin van Persie to a move creative midfield role in the coming seasons.
