van Persie won't be joining Man City

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does not expect Robin van Persie to be leaving the Emirates anytime soon. Reports suggested Manchester City would bid for the Dutchman in January.

But Wenger is confident Robin van Persie will stay, as he is tied to a contract at Arsenal until 2013.

Contract talks are already underway between Arsenal and van Persie's representatives.

"This is a story created to create a story," he said. "There is no truth to it. There is nothing to say really.

"Anybody who wants to sign one of our players can call me. Everybody has my phone number.

"I don't know why we are even speaking about transfers. Robin is under contract until 2013."
