Rio Ferdinand stalls on Man Utd deal
Rio Ferdinand is likely to quit Man Utd at the end of the season, as contract talks appear to have stalled. The England international has been linked with a move to Tottenham since last summer.
Ferdinand has 18 months left on his current deal, but is looking for a further year extension on that contract. Apparently, United are looking to wait for another six months before discussions can begin.
Injuries have meant that Ferdinand has found himself out of the first team this year, with former Blackburn defender Phil Jones taking a more prominent role in the United defence.
Ferdinand also wants guarantees that he will be a first team regular before committing to any contract at Old Trafford.
