Tottenham manager rules out Pienaar exit
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has said that Steven Pienaar will not be sold. The South African international midfielder had been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, but his manager wants to keep the 29 year old until the end of the season.
Since arriving at Tottenham, Pienaar has struggled to force his way into the first team squad due to the impressive form of attacking midfield quarter Luca Modric, Aaron Lennon, Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart.
But that does not mean Spurs will look to sell the South African midfielder, who signed from Everton over a year ago.
"I wouldn't want to let him go. He is a good player. I don't need to weaken the squad," said Redknapp.
"I'd rather have a good squad for the last 18 matches than let one or two go who could play a part in the run-in."
