Southgate: Mido will be fit
Gareth Southgate has said that Mido will be fit to play Chelsea at the weekend. The Middlesbrough striker sustained a hamstring injury in September and has been out of action since.
He told the club's official website: "Mido is back in training, he has trained this week and provided there is no reaction he should be ready for Saturday."
In further good news for Boro, Dong Gook Lee and Emanuel Pogatetz have also returned to training.
Lee missed the defeat at Manchester City two weeks ago but should return against Chelsea, while Pogatetz is ahead of schedule in his comeback from a double knee operation over the summer.
The Austrian defender has targeted a possible return against Tottenham on November 3, but Southgate is refusing to set a firm date.
"Manny has returned to training ahead of schedule," he said.
"But we are not putting any timescale on when he may be back playing again, we need to see how he reacts following his rehabilitation first."
