Nasri denies that he quit Arsenal for more money
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has hit out at reports that he left Arsenal for a move North because of the extra money on offer at the big spending Citizens.
Nasri joined Man City for 25.5 million GBP last summer to the dismay of many Gunners fans, who had hoped the keep the Frenchman despite his contract expiring during the summer.
But Nasri's decision to move to City was not motivated by the offer of money, but because of a desire to win trophies.
"When you're a fan of a club, you don't know what happens on the inside. The easiest thing for the fans to say is 'He went there for the money, he betrayed us'," said Nasri.
"I had a better proposition in another country, which I didn't choose. I have good wages here, I can't deny, but every player has good wages. If you play at Arsenal, you have better wages than somewhere else.
"I didn't choose Manchester City for the money. The Premier League table shows that."
